WHAT IS PAINT PROTECTION FILM (PPF)
Paint protection film ( PPF, also called clear bra, clear film or clear paint film) is a thermoplastic urethane often self healing film applied to painted surfaces of a vehicle/bike/boat/plane in order to protect the paint from stone chips, bug splatters, and minor abrasions.
how ppf is installed
1 - Surfaces are cleaned with a non-abrasive degreaser.
In some instances paint is required to be decontaminated and sealed.
2 - Film is then removed from the backing paper and sprayed with the slip solution (Soap and water)
Spray your fingers and panel that's to be protected
3 - Lay the film on the panel and slide into position. Line up pre-cut film with edges or line up massing film as required.
4 - Now with PPF in position spray fitting solution (Alcohol solution) to film and squeegee then apply pressure to remove the air and moisture.
5 - Continue working the film until all moisture and air is released. On curved surfaces use a pulling force to stretch the film to the required contours and apply steam and pressure.
6 - Once all moisture and air is released from below the film, apply heat and flatten edges to secure the film in place.
7 - Vehicle requires 48Hr full cure time for PPF to be secured to the surfaces. All minor bubbles and moisture will be eliminated in this curing process. Direct sunlight is required for this.
